Negros Occidental is the province known as the Sugar Bowl of the Philippines. It is considered as the fourth largest island in the Philippines which comprises of 601 cities. The capital of Negros Occidental is Bacolod City.

It was an opportunity for me to visit and stay for a few months in this town.  I discovered beautiful places and scenery during my stay here. I am grateful to share with you the wonderful places I had went through and the gracious people I had met there.

The following articles below will show and tell you the experienced I had in this province. I hope my writings will inspire you and encourage you to come and visit Negros one of this day.

My Journey to Bacolod

If you are traveling by air when going to Bacolod, you will be landed in the New Bacolod - Silay Airport. It is a newly built airport that provides easy access to every tourist to visit in the city. It is also the main airport serving the general area of Bacolod City.

As a first timer in this place, I was really captivated by the beauty of nature that this place have. Sugarcane plantations are all over the place and I was really fascinated. I only got a chance to see sugarcane in malls but by that time, I had a chance to see it in wide green fields.

Moreover, beautiful old churches can also be seen here like San Sebastian Cathedral and St. Jude Thaddeus Parish Alijis.

The Ruins

In addition, I also discovered this place called The Ruins at Talisay City, Negros Occidental, Philippines. It is an Italian inspired mansion that was burnt by guerilla fighters in the Philippines ( to prevent Japanese forces from utilizing it as their headquarters).

It is a nice and a must-see tourist place. Different amenities and attractions can be seen here like the old well, mini golf ground, flowers and plants ornaments, souvenir shops, etch.
